"Did you get any stronger? You must be strong enough until I will release you." Looking closely at them as if he is gonna find clues to his question.

Chinmei and Kyosaburo remains quiet and are probably more scared of Oda's behaviour than about the kage's anger right now.

Oda hypotizes until he realizes how his position might be at risk. It is his jutsu and it was he who recommended them to the kage. He would probably have to take responsibility of it.
